My life motto

Firstly, I want to thank you all for your kind comments on my last post. I am not going to lie; I was anxious about publishing my first blog post ever. But look at me now, I have already written another one! I do not think I am ever becoming a novel writer, but I must admit that this was not so horrible after all. Getting comfortable being our main goal I can say with ease that we are making progress.

As I told you on my last post, I have taken a winding road to get here where I am now. Sometimes I find myself wondering if that was worthwhile or did I just wasted years of my life. That road felt right back then, and I was passionate about that field, so I have decided not to regret it. Life cannot be all about what if. When you are old and sitting in a rocking chair;

You will not regret the things you did, but the things you did not do.
I have tried to live my life with that on mind. Even the failures and bad decisions that feels like the end of the world eventually gives something good at the end. And the more I think about it, I can adapt that thought on many other things in life.
I have always been shy and reserved person, but I decided that I am not going to let that stop me. I am grateful that even at such a young age I have had the opportunity to experience a lot by traveling and I have grown to love extreme sports. Still, I do not mean that you have to travel the world and swim with sharks. It can even be about the little things in life, like trying new foods and meeting new people.
So, I think that what I am trying to say is that if you are given an opportunity to do something but feel like something is holding you back, just do it. If that was not your thing, it is okay, but at least now you know and at best you have one more story to tell. Do not miss out on things, life is too short.
I think I went a little overboard with spreading some kind of life philosophy here, but I hope you got the point.
Do you have some different kind motto that you live by?

Comments

  1. Great that you feel less nervous about posting now. Not letting shyness get in the way of doing the things I want is something I too struggle with (a lot). But life truly is too short for that, so, we have to just keep trying. Looking forward to your future posts.

  2. This is a great way of thinking about life. If you are always too scared or shy to try new activities, you'll never find the things that you truly enjoy.

  3. "Don't let your yesterday define your today" is one of the motivational quotes that keep me going and reading your blog has made me think about things that I haven't thought of in awhile it really good that you didn't let your nervousness hold you back, thanks.

  4. I can totally agree with your motto. I can't even remember how many times I've regretted things that I didn't do back in the days. I'm not sure if I have my own motto, but in my daily life I will always try to follow many routines and plan a lot of things before doing them.

  5. You sound a lot like me. I have heard something similar to your motto and it really is a life changing thought. I still sometimes struggle to use this advice in real life since it's easier said than done. Great post!
